Love these! I bought 3 sets (yeah, a bit much) and they are great! The paint isn't very good, but it doesn't detract from our ability to enjoy building and creating with these. I just wish they included tips for successful building and ideas for creating sculptures. Other than that we enjoy our rainbow stackers! We also combine them with coordinating semi circles, peg people, small animals and various other accessories for small world play.
Ive been looking for an alternative to the big name brand that was just as sturdy and this seems to fit the bill so far. First picture shows the size in relative to my 4 year olds hand. The yellow one seems to have come with a little grayish/black stain on it. Weve only had it a few days and my 4 year old loves playing with it. I will update in the future if we come across any issues.
This is a good product for it's price. It's pretty, good colors. Seems sturdy (time will tell being given to a toddler). The wood isn't perfect, there's a slight warp in a few pieces and theres a texture from the staining/dying process. Almost like it could have been sanded again before shipping.
I expected this to be more of a decoration than a toy, however the minute I opened the box my 27 month old daughter was all over this toy. First we stacked, then made tunnels for cars, made fences, and used the pieces as blankets for her stuffed animals. Weve only had it a day, but it seems like it will be a versatile and long-lasting investment. Ill definitely consider giving this for gifts in the future.
These were a gift for my three-year old niece. Grimms is another manufacturer of these rainbow blocks, but their price point is 3 times higher. While I would buy Grimms for a classroom of children and expect years of use, this brand is perfect for home. Sturdy and seem to be long lasting. I just wish there had been a booklet of examples of building. Her mom would have appreciated that as she had never seen the blocks before. I sent her a link through Grimms mentioned above.
I ordered this wooden rainbow for my 2 year old birthday. I think it is pretty and ok quality, but maybe too early for a boy his age. He just stacks some parts of rainbow and then looses interest (as 2 year olds frequently do), but I am sure he will be interested one if these days. The paint is mate, and some parts are discoloring, but I have found no splinters. Fun and pretty for me though :)
